Baker’s Dozen Challenge Book 1

What better way to spend a snow day than catching up on some reading? Fanboys vs. Zombies is pretty simple. A group of friends go to San Diego Comic Con and a zombie outbreak occurs. They must channel all their gaming combat knowledge in order to get out of this alive.

I discovered Fanboys vs. Zombies at Baltimore Comic Con in 2013 but didn’t get the trades until Christmas. I figured I’d spend my snow day catching up on my graphic novels. I liked the dynamic and the drama between the characters but the pacing felt a little fast. I wished they’d spent a few more pages on the back story and the zombie outbreak.

In Shaun of the Dead the zombie apocalypse explains the characters, their relationships, and their lives while slowly letting the zombie outbreak unfold as well. Fanboys kind of went from typical Comic Con drama to zombie outbreak almost immediately. But if the idea appeals to you it’s definitely worth a read.
